Cottonwood Art Festival is a bi-annual event featuring works from the nation’s top visual artists. Held in the scenic Cottonwood Park in Richardson, the prestigious event is now entering its 37th year taking place in the month of May. Over 800 artists had submitted their work for consideration last year. Two-hundred and forty artists had been selected by jurors to exhibit their museum quality work at the festival. Categories include 2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Digital, Drawings/Pastels, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metalwork, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Wood. Featured artists have included Laura Lee Junge and photographer Carl Walker Crum. The festival also features local bands that perform the best in rock, country, jazz, blues, swing and folk. Food and spirits are also available throughout the festival. Children may also participate in arts and crafts activities. Cottonwood Art Festival has something for everyone!
